Pediatrics in midwifery

Pediatrics is a branch of medicine that plays a major role in midwifery education. To develop competent practice nurses/midwives who support women and their infants, children and adolescents in primary health care. Based on the Midwifery and Youth Development framework, it provides direct care to women and children and promotes healthy habits that reduce the risk of illness and disease. Midwives are the primary caregivers of pregnant women and are sometimes called obstetricians. Pediatric nurses often assist doctors by providing young patients with medical care and information about illnesses and treatment plans.
